There is an issue right now with the Forums and the Photo Gallery right now. If you try and use them you will either get errors or you will get nothing. I am working on the issue but don't know when it will be resolved.
Sorry for the inconvenience,

SunSpray Ultra-Fine Horticultural Oil
For those that get the San Diego Epi Society newsletter, then you know all about this fine product. Phil Peck wrote a great article about it letting everyone know how great it is on epis. It is used to rid your plants of all sort, and I mean ALL SORTS of pests. Phil tested it on many other types of plants including some ferns and other assorted plants and there was no bad results. It worked on everything he tested! The bad news came when people tried to purchase this fine product... none could be found. If you call the company that "made it", they will inform you that they actually didn't make it but in fact purchased a smaller company and got a bunch of this along with the company. They have since run out and do not intend on manufacturing it.
Thanks,

World Wide Nurseries
I would like to compile a publicly available list of nurseries around the world that sell Epiphyllums and other epiphytic cacti. If you know of one that you are sure fits these requirements (I know there really aren't that many requirements), please forward me their name, address, phone number and web site address so I can post them. I know I can't supply the world with epis so I would at least like to provide information so everyone around the world can get them.
Thanks,
Jim |

Care and Feeding of Epi Oxypetalum
|
MikeGarcia writes "I had an Epiphlyllum Oxypetalum in my back yard and the frost of dec. jan. 2006 well killed her. I really miss looking foward to her blooming. I have a few pictures of her in bloom. What I need to know is all about getting another one and how to care for her. If there is any one who can help I would really appreciate it. I never thought the frost would harm her. As she is a wild plant. I have a lot to learn. Thank you for your help.

Ayee writes "I have grown this extremely beautiful flower for the past 20 years! I picked a leaf from a growing plant during one of the field trips I had with my students in the forest mountains of Bukidnon province, Philippines. The leaf had roots and now this snake-like vine is so long with several branches.
I've always wondered what it was for it is not found in my taxonomy book. Believe it or not, i only knew (from a friend) the other day that it is a night blooming cereus. I then searched the web and found the Got Epis website. From the photo gallery i am now sure that my epis is called epiphyllum oxypetalum!
Since March my vine has been blooming and with 40 to 50 blossoms (each month) my home is permeated with fragrance the whole night. Apparently, my epis blooms a lot during the wet and very wet season. It has always been a sight to behold and I have taken photographs of the flowers and now intent on sending these photos to the Got Epis photo gallery - one of these days. I still have a long way to go on my computer and photography skills!
I am greatly enamoured with this exquisite plant and would love to know more about it.

Original Watercolor of Epiphyllum Still Life
|
Anonymous writes "Greetings,
I'm a full time, gallery represented artist in southern California, and I would like to offer an original, framed watercolor of an Epie for sale.
My neighbor gave me a fragrant, white, beautiful Epiphyllum bloom, which I put in a bud vase on my kitchen counter. At dawn, the rising sun caught just the tips of the petals as the light panned across the
counter, and I couldn't help but paint it. The Epie sits near a little bronze cat holding a polished stone on his tray, in front of a pot of African Violets, and an Orchid.
This watercolor measures 25"w x 17"h (framed dimensions are 36" w x 28"h), and it's matted in archival, museum quality cream colored mat
and a blonde, maple Arquati wood frame. The back is sealed, and hanging hardware is attached. The price is $950. and it can be boxed to ship anywhere in the US.
This image shows the watercolor, framed & next to the artist (for scale):
